Part of the Ispat Group

Balasore Alloys — formerly Ispat Alloys Limited — is part of the renowned Ispat group of companies, a major business house promoted by the Mittals, with operations spread across several countries in addition to India. The company was incorporated in 1984 at Balasore, Odisha.

🏭

Manufacturing Flexibility

Across two plants with a combined capacity of 175,000 MTPA and multiple furnaces of varying sizes, the company can produce different grades of Ferro Chrome in step with market dynamics. This flexibility lets a wide product mix be maintained simultaneously — even at lower quantity requirements — adding to its competitive advantage.

⛏️

Secured Raw Materials

The company operates captive chrome-ore mines in the Sukinda Valley at Jajpur Road, Odisha, meeting its chrome-ore requirement in full. As one of the few Ferro Alloys manufacturers in India with captive mines, BAL holds a major advantage given the uncertain availability and volatile pricing of chrome ore. Other raw materials are sourced from both domestic and international markets, and its products enjoy an international reputation.

🏅

Certified for Excellence

BAL is IMS (Integrated Management System) certified for both its plant site at Balasore and its mines at Sukinda, Jajpur, Odisha. A suite of management-excellence initiatives drives efficiency and continuous improvement across every area:
