Balasore Alloys Limited (BAL) shall establish and maintain a productive work environment by assigning the highest importance to Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) in every sphere of its activities.

- To minimize and eliminate Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) risks.
- To ensure total compliance with all applicable statutory rules and regulations.
- To bring continuous improvement to sustain accident-free operations.
- To improve production and productivity through adherence to a sustainable OHS Management System, giving priority to awareness, training, and motivation.

At BAL, the safety and health of employees, business partners, service providers, and the public—along with the well-being of stakeholders and minimization of environmental impact—are top priorities. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) are key focus areas and are integrated into our business operations at every level and function.
The primary objective of BAL’s HSE Programme is to provide a healthy and safe workplace with a strong focus on Zero Injury and Environmental Protection.
“Zero Accident” is our ultimate goal.
This achievement is based on our long-term belief that:
- All injuries are preventable, and
- Working safely is a condition of employment.
As a result of these efforts, BAL has achieved a milestone of 2.35 million accident-free man-hours.

- Zero-tolerance policy toward non-implementation of SOPs and Work Permit Systems.
- Emergency preparedness and periodic review through mock drills.
- Safety checks for newly installed equipment and process changes.
- Safety promotional activities to enhance employee involvement and awareness.
- Compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Implementation of Contractor Safety Management Systems.
