Balasore Alloys Ltd. Plant is the 2018 recipient of the prestigious “Kalinga Safety Award” (Silver) on achieving excellence in the SHE area in the calendar year 2017.  His Excellency Governor of Odisha Prof. Ganeshi Lal bestowed the award   at an Inaugural ceremony hosted on 2.11.2018 by the “ODISHA STATE SAFETY CONCLAVE-2018” in Bhubaneswar, Odisha state. Dr. Swarup Panda, Sr. Vice President - Corporate Affairs and Mr. Sandeep Kumar Das, Dy. Manager – Safety collected it on behalf of Balasore Alloys Ltd.

 

‘Kalinga Safety Award’ is reputed recognition established in 2010 by the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS), an Odisha– based Training and Consulting firm with over 20 years of experience in enhancing best practices in Quality, Safety and Environment. In applying to be evaluated in “Medium and Small Scale Industries”, “Large Scale Industries”, “Mining Sector” and “Construction Sector”, organizations in Mining, Construction, Ports and Hospitals Service Sector were invited to showcase their Best Safety Practices. 

 

Balasore Alloys Ltd. had undergone an extensive application process on objective grading of the applicable aspects to SHE management in the category of “Large Scale Enterprises” during the calendar year 2017. They were assessed by the expert panel from the field of safety, health and environment and Directorate of factories & boilers, Government of Odisha assessed the different aspects of the SHE management
