Ratha Yatra Festival was marked by Balasore Alloys Ltd

Another July has traditionally started in spirit of cheerfulness and excitement at Balasore Alloys Ltd.’s plant and mines area where employees have, along with their professional engagements, been welcomed to support the preparations in the eve of Ratha Yatra. The festival which is marked at the company premise every year was scheduled on 14th July 2018.

Employees were joined by their families in sharing the auspicious occasion. Ladies abided by special dress code which was announced in line the festive days. Local communities were invited to share the festive spirit during Ratha Yatra and Vishwakarma Puja. They were welcomed on a tour at the plant site to become familiar with the production process. 

Extensive preliminary planning made sure working process was uninterrupted despite the detailed festive preparations. In promotion of safe festive experience, chariot was provided with braking system and its path was charted out for the movement. All necessary arrangements were at place to protect public from close vicinity of Chariot which might cause injury. Water was sufficiently arranged to keep people hydrated.The festival symbolizes the nine-day journey of Lord Jagannath and his siblings to Gundicha Temple. Special chariot is traditionally carted for the trinity and disciples are flocked from all over the world to be part of the festival. Among the chants and devotional songs the disciples pull the chariot to the Mausima temple. “Joining the celebration of this centuries-old tradition provides an immense opportunity for Balasore Alloys Ltd. team to experience the remarkable cultural heritage of our homeland and to conserve it vital in modern context”, Mr. Vikas Sahu, Assistant General Manager (ER) explained.
